In case you aren't a hockey fan and missed it, the NHL season started last week. To launch the season Def Leopard performed at the Fox Theatre before and during the first Red Wings game. The Versus network (the sad, sad, sad home of the NHL) along with the NHL sponsored the concert and showed the concert on national TV. At one point McCarty drove his motorcycle on stage carrying the Stanley Cup. Def Leopard dude takes the cup and places it UPSIDE DOWN on the pedestal and then dismisses the gaffe because the band are "soccer boys".
Dude, you were hired to promote the NHL. You should not dismiss the sport and tell everyone you prefer another but AT LEAST know what end is up of the greatest trophy in sports.
